QUITO – CITY TOUR
Quito is a must on your list to visit, but there is not only one reason for that. Quito is a World Heritage city since 1978 and its Historic District is considered to be the largest and best preserved in Latin America. With a short visit you will have history, culture, folklore and art.
The visit of Quito involves a step in the history, for this we will present the modern part of the city, to go entering little by little in what we call the Historical Center. We will walk through the narrow streets of downtown, where we will see: Plaza de la Independencia, also called "Plaza Grande", located in the heart of Colonial Quito with the political, municipal and religious powers towards its sides as the Presidential Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, the City Hall and the Cathedral Church, restored in some occasions and that today keeps an interesting perspective of different architectural styles that have been integrated through the centuries. Our tour also includes a visit to the Church of San Francisco, known as "The Escorial of America" and The Company of Jesus with its sumptuous decoration and beautiful gold leaf interior and its volcanic stone carved façade. The tour takes about 3 hours. Lunch is not included.
