Our Operations Department will meet you there, and provide the boarding passes and help you registering in.

Once you arrive to the Napo river port in Coca, it takes approximately 2.5 hours. Upon entering the Yasuni National Park we disembark and change to paddle canoes for approximately 1.5 hours.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Built by the natives indigenous of the Kichwa Añangu Community, the cabins at the NWC are just huge and comfortable. The place is really exclusive; there are only 16 private cabins, 12 standard and 4 luxury suites. The cabañas are decorated with native furnishings and are fully equipped with a private room with hot water, ventilation, energy and a balcony with the most incredible views of the jungle and the Añangu Lagoon.

The Napo Wildlife Center is a good example eco-tourism projects. The community has invested in an environmental and unique system, probable the best and most advanced of the Amazonia. All waste water is processed to maintain the swamps clean. Also the energy is generated by solar panels, industrial batteries and silent generators, which is an efficient system with minimal environment impacts.

ROOM & FACILITIES

The Main Hall: The main hall of the Napo Wildlife Center is a central structure where visitors and staff meet, dine and share their experiences during their stay. In this main house there are several comfortable social areas including a full-stocked bar; a library where you can borrow some interesting books to read during your stay; the restaurant where all meals are served and a 20 ft high observation tower that provides an incredible 360° view of the surrounding forest, lake and passing wildlife. Also, there is a short trail behind the house where nocturnal creatures can be observed.

The most luxurious lodge in Ecuador’s Amazon: 

The Napo Wildlife Center complex has sixteen luxury cabins . The spacious cabins are comfortable and spotless-clean. Room facilities include:

Interpretative Center: The Interpretative Center is part of a cultural activity organized by the women of the community in their cultural center. You will be introduced to the local Kichwa culture and traditions with examples of traditional hunting methods, use of medicinal plants, cooking, dances, etc.

The Napo Wildlife Center is built on the shores of the Añangu Lake. This particularly privileged location provides a refreshing breeze and wonderful views. The spacious and airy cabanas and the main hall inspired by the native typical designs are the pride of the hotel.

Electricity: Electricity in the lodge is provided by hybrid systems of solar panels and silent diesel engines that provide 24-hour electricity and have little impact on the environment. Also, the lodge has plenty of 110-volt outlets in the cabins and living room in case you need to recharge your batteries and equipment.

Running water: The NWC has a unique wastewater treatment system. Water for the bathrooms and kitchen at the lodge is taken from the lake and it undergoes on a purification system to avoid lake pollution. As for drinkable water, you can find it in a water dispenser in the main hall area. The idea is that you take a bottle and refill it every time you need trying to use as less plastic bottles and cups as possible.

Library: The lodge has a library from which you can borrow a wide variety of books from biology, to conservation, literature, natural history, birds, etc. on our reading lounge.. We suggest that you do not take the books to the rooms so other guests can have also the opportunity to use enjoy them.

Shopping: The lodge boutique is a place where you can buy souvenirs and also personal care items. Also, at the cultural center there is a gift shop where you can buy handicrafts made by women of the community.

Internet: The Internet service is available at the lodge at a very reasonable price. If you need to use this service it will be added to your bill.

Communications: The Napo Wildlife Center has a two-way radio that connects the Lodge to our office in Quito and our office in Coca. Mobile service can sometimes be accessed in the lodge from the tower’s highest levels.

First Aid: We provide visitors with first aid kits for excursions. Also, our excursion guides have basic medical training so they are capable of helping you in case of any emergency. For more serious attention there is a health center in the Community area.

Logbook: Tell us about your experience at the Napo Wildlife Center, the rare or uncommon animals and their interactions, or what plants they were eating which you you saw with your guides, so future visitors can learn about those unexpected encounters with the incredible biodiversity of the Amazon Rainforest of Añangu.

Dietary requests: If you are a vegetarian or have special dietary requests, you can contact the lodge staff and special food will be arranged for you.

Laundry Service: There is laundry service at the lodge at a very reasonable price. There is a white bag in your room and a form to fill out with the clothes you need washing which will be picked up by staff every morning and delivered back. 

Medical center: We have a doctor and a medical center at the Community. In case of an emergency the doctor will go to the lodge or passenger will be taken out to the Community. For further situations, we take passenger to Quito.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Packing list:

  • Passport

  • Good binoculars for wildlife viewing (an absolute necessity). We suggest that each visitor carry their own binoculars

  • Camera/video gear (if using film, lower ASA for open areas (50 or 100), higher ASA for forest (400 and up). [24 hour electricity (120v) is available for charging batteries and digital equipment.]

  • Two or three pairs of lightweight long pants

  • Two or three long-sleeved lightweight shirts

  • Two or three T-shirts

  • One or two pairs of shorts (mostly for around the lodge)

  • Lightweight sweater or jacket

  • Raingear (if you prefer not to use the ponchos provided)

  • Three or four pairs of cotton socks

  • Sandals (Teva type or similar for around the lodge)

  • Three or four pairs of absorbent socks

  • Small day pack for excursions

  • A bottle or canteen to carry water on hike (1-quart size is sufficient)

  • Ziplock-type plastic bags to cover optics or other gear

  • Insect repellent (Skin-so-soft or DEET product with at least 20% concentration)

  • Flashlight or headlamp bright enough for use on night walks

  • Small, packable umbrella (can be useful in light rain – very useful!)

  • A hat for sun protection (and that will stay on during windy boat rides)

  • Sunglasses

  • Sunscreen lotion with a high SPF rating

  • Personal toiletries and medications (carry medications with you when arriving and leaving the lodge)

  • Extra batteries/film/video tapes as appropriate

  • A photocopy of your passport (always good to have while traveling)

  • Money (in small US$ bills – ones and fives and coins) for bar bills and Artesania purchases

  • We recommend using rechargeable batteries in your visit to the lodge so that you need not dispose of used batteries, thus contributing to the quality of our environment

RESERVATION & CANCELLATION POLICY
  • A non-rufundable deposit of USD$ 300.00 will be necessary to comfirm your reservation

  • The total payment will be asked 30 days before the scheduled departure date.

  • If you cancel between 60 and 31 days in advance of the scheduled departure, there is a 50% cancellation fee.

  • If you cancel within 30 days of the scheduled departure, there is a 100% cancellation fee.

  • Last minute bookings are non refundable.
